Five runs across the first three innings fueled Elkhorn North to a 12-4 home win over Lincoln Standing Bear on Monday in the B-4 subdistrict semifinal.
The Grizzlies made things interesting in the third inning, plating three runs in the frame to make it a 3-3 tie going into the bottom half. The Wolves scored two and ran away with the game.
Analise Meizen had two hits and a pair of RBIs in the game, along with a double, to pace Standing Bear.
Wayne 11, Lincoln Northwest 1: The Falcons struggled early and were unable to salvage its B-6 Subdistrict opener. Northwest found themselves down 9-0 after the second inning and were run-ruled by the fourth. Kenna Scribner scored the lone run for the Falcons.
